Deleting a user without having the data transfer option enabled will cause all the case files that user owns to be deleted with them, and the data cannot be restored. See the instructions below on how to enable transfer data and how to delete a user. Note that only administrators can perform this task.

Allow transferring ownership of data on user deletion
- When you are logged in to Penneo, click on Configure on the left side menu and then Company.
- Scroll down to Security & Privacy.
- Click on Allow transferring ownership of data on user deletion to checkmark it.
- Click Save changes.
How to delete a user
- When you are logged in to Penneo, click on Configure on the left side menu and then Company.
- Go to the tab Users.
- Locate the user you would like to delete. Hover over them and three dots will appear on the far right. Click the three dots and then Delete user.
- If you haven't enabled data transfer, you will be prompted to confirm your decision by clicking on I understand, delete user.
If data transfer is enabled, you will be prompted to select a user to transfer the data to. If you want to transfer the data to yourself, simply uncheck Transfer to another user, and then click I understand, delete user. In order to transfer the data to someone other than yourself, checkmark Transfer to another user and choose which user in the dropdown menu. Click on Delete user and transfer data once you have chosen which user to transfer the data to. - Confirm your decision by clicking Yes, delete user. Now, you will see a success message, click Accept.

How to delete a user
Note that if you just before allowed data transfer, you will need to reload the page for the new setting to take effect.
