The PDF format is a relatively complicated format, which can cause several issues. We recommend that all PDF's that are uploaded to Penneo are created in PDF/A format, as this ensures that Penneo can read the PDF file correctly.
If you experience characters being replaced or has the wrong font, typically special characters like ÆØÅ, it may be caused by fonts not being embedded in the PDF file, and therefore Penneo cannot read the file correctly. This commonly happens with the built-in plugin in Windows 10 that creates PDF's.
You may also experience blank or black pages in the documents you have uploaded to Penneo, it is usually caused by transparent layers in the PDF which disables Penneo to prepare it to be digitally signed.
PDF related issues, like the ones above, are typically fixed by printing a new version of your PDF. To print a PDF open the file, click on the print option and change the printer to Save as PDF, print the file and save it. Try uploading the new PDF to Penneo.
