Note: This article only addresses error 400 during send out of a case file, not during signing. If you are receiving error 400 when attempting to sign documents, see the following guide: Unknown error / Error code 400: Expired or invalid signature
This message is usually shown when there has been an error in the structure of the case file, in other words when the chosen roles and document types do not correspond to each other.
For example, the error could be due to:
- You have selected a document type, but none of your signatories have a role that allows them to sign that document
- You have only selected attachments and are missing documents that require signature
To resolve this error, please review the case thoroughly and correct the structure. Navigate to the first step of the case file creation process and click the question mark next to the signing flow you have chosen and compare your document types and roles.
In our latest version of Penneo, the question mark is also visible on the final overview page before sending the documents out.
