If Penneo cannot read the name from a NemID certificate, the name will be hidden on the finalized document. If the name is hidden in a signed document, the most common reasons are one of the following:
- The signer has chosen to have a hidden name and/or address in the CPR registry
- The signer is not located in Denmark, and therefore NemID can not validate the signer's identity through the address.
Usually, a person with a hidden name or address, cannot sign. The only way they can do so is if the creator of the case file has added their CPR (social security number) to the case. If needed later on, you can identify the signer by their CPR number. Furthermore, you can validate the signature by using the Penneo Validator. You can read more about our validator and how to use it here: How to validate a Penneo Document.
If you would like the name to show in the document either way, you can refer the signer to this article that will guide them to show their name in their certificate: Error code 5: No name in the NemID. However, it is completely up to the signer whether they would agree to make their name visible or not.
